Shel@Homeš”OK so fun fact the reason imperial units seems so weird when they jump from 3 feet to a yard then 1760 yards to a mile is cuz there's a bunch of obscure middle-units we don't use anymore.
12 inches is a foot
3 feet is a yard
22 yards is a chain
10 chains is a furlong
8 furlongs is a mile
3 miles is a league
still arbitrary af but at least it's not skipping from 3 to over a thousand lol
also why an acre is 43560 square feet. Actually meant to be 1 furlong x 1 chain (still weird!!)
