@musicman It is prejudice, in its original sense: making assumptions before getting to know someone. Is it racism? Some say otherwise racist remarks made out of ignorance and without intent are still racist. . Personally, I wish to reserve the terms "racism" and "racist" for knowing and intentional acts and for willful ignorance, so that calling someone out for racism is more than just believing stereotypes without any personal experience to support them. (But then, many claim that only Caucasians can be racist, even if a "person of color does similar things for similar reasons.)
@lnxw48a1 the whole only Caucasians can be racist is laughable. A large part of Asian culture is based upon the northerners being superior to the southerns due to dark skin. It is, in 2018, very Victorian. Of course not all Asians and asian-americans are racist but Wendy's Vietnamese parents sure are and they are themselves the subject of Chinese, korean, and Japanese racism. I guess it's not literally worse, but racism by perceived others feels so much...I dunno what the word is.
