   Hate's easy, and ironically that is exactly what the psople crowing about hate speech do.  They hate you have a posistion opposite to theirs, they need it to silenced, no opposition to the One True Position can be counternanced.  There is a grim irony that this is basically the same psychology as the NDA, aka the Nazis.

      Understanding and tolerance are much more difficult but its depressing that they are so rare.

      You dontsee me calling @katiekats a Nazi or hateful although we have different political opinions.  Apparently thats reserved for people who held the same general posistion as her, and about the only thing the drive for ideological purity did was make her more sympathetic to my posistion.

         The amount of people who agreed with me about Brexit, and...attacked me, blocked me, whatever, over it. Cos I basically said "Well my wife thinks otherwise about it and we still get on. Cos...I just don't think we should say people are awful if they disagree."

               Very much so.
               Not to name names, cos drama. But...people blocked me. People insulted me. Quoted what I'd said to shame me. Literally over my comments that boiled down to "even if you disagree, be kind to eachother."

            @katiekats @maiyannah I think that if we don't let political opinions come between us then that difference doesn't mean we can't get along. It's rarely black and white, people come up with all sorts of opinions for varying reasons which can change... that doesn't mean they are bad people. It sucks that some people get so caught up that they have to make an enemy out of those that think differently to them and also those that associate with those people that think differently. My family were split on brexit, and I know I wouldn't consider them bad just because we differed there. We don't always see eye to eye on politics but there is more to people than that. It's good to be reminded of this.
