   #Mastodon 's layout kind of ruins the experience of embedded images in a timeline. The view of each post is too skinny, and every thumbnail is ultimately cropped.

      @dsh I agree. I even made a half-assed instagram-like client for seeing only image posts:

      I tried getting it to display any combination of images (up to four) without cropping, while still minimizing weird whitespace.
