@masklayer as fingers sez, the appeal is the visceral nature of it, and I think one other nice thing about it is the unpredictabilit

with digital, you have instant feedback and can retake the photo if needed

with film, you newer know what you get, framing or exposure may be off so every photo is a risk, and it takes a long time for it to get developed

you may make something beautiful or something bad, but unlike digital, this needn't concern you, you focus on capturing the moment
