I have oddly conflicting feels about DJ remixes of jazz tracks. On the one hand, I appreciate anything that expands the reach of the jazz; on the other hand, too many DJs throw out the best parts of it being jazz; on the other other hand, this is all subjective anyway and there should be more to the world than my guaranteed-to-be-more-narrow-than-all-possible-states tastes

@djsundog A long time ago in my neighbourhood indie bookstore I made a disparaging comment about James Patterson's latest pablum, or similar. But the owner pointed out to me that he stocked it right next to Lao Tzu, Wittgenstein, Hume, etc. "They come through the door for Chicken Soup but I occasionally get them to take real medicine."
The Verve Remixed series is like that, I think.
