Lars Wirzenius@algernon You bring up good points that all of us programmers should consider. Rest assuerd, however, that no permission is needed to program. There are no qualifications required. It's A-OK to program without it being a calling.
That said, it's good to have a hobby or something else that is not programming. Reading, music, movies, family, friends, etc. I occasionally do photography and fiction writing, for example.
