@paulfree14 money acts as the great equalizer between trades. if it were abolished, we'd have to use a barter system (because not everybody's possessions are the same value). and if i'm a lumberjack, and the guy who sells bread doesn't need any wood, then i'm screwed. but an exchange of money creates a way i can still get fed for the same value, while allowing both of us to get what we want
