Conversation

I was watching a doc w/ John Mellencamp. He was talking how "Art is so often unexpected." So it is. Last night, I was frustrated w/ music. Same chords. Same sound. A wall of nothing. So I open-tuned, added a capo, started strumming with no plan. A strange chord turn-around that my fingers found by pure accident caught my ear. I paid attention, twisting the chord until my fingers hurt. I followed my ears. Within an hour, a new song slowly emerged from the kernels of that mistake. #smallstories
