At the TJ, you don’t get sent to the “next available cashier” until their previous customer has started to walk away. At WF, you arrive at the register while the cashier’s still busy with your predecessor.
That is to say, the Whole Foods cashier has zero slack time. Do employees say “Thank you, #Bezos”?
