Making a persistent live USB with Linux to take on-the-go
If I was to summarize all advantages of using GNU/Linux (and free software in general) in one word, it would be flexibility. Flexibility practically enables everything else that is good with Free Software: you can have the most secure system ever, or relax a little and have a very usable setup. You can have a high end, beautiful and easy to use system, or go minimalist and have just the bare essentials as a tiny, highly efficient one. In short, you can have anything.
