               Yo @yukiame now, now, don't put words in my mouth. I never said anything about trusting anyone with my assets.

               Assets are available 24/7. retain their value through thick & thin, are portable & are liquid at a moments notice. In other words, in hand. There are NO middlemen involved to get to immediate value.

               Current digital currencies have none of that and in spades. The world's fiat currencies are in the same waters.

                        1. Globally accepted
                        2. Exchangeable without middlemen
                        2. Untraceable

                        Seems like you can only pick (at most) two, but maybe I’m missing something.

                              @yukiame The blockchain by its nature a ledger, which means all transactions are tracked. All those Mixer and Tumbler services do is add a layer of obfuscation. They cannot guarantee any sort of anonymity.

                              Which goes to @YoVinnie’s point: it requires an intermediary to make use of.

                              Yo @HiroProtagonist Au (as with most precious metals) will always work. Rare, can carry it with you, can lop off a hunk to trade immediately. No ledgers or middlemen. Has held value for millennia.

                                    Yo @yukiame already hitting the catnip, eh? 😸 Just have a perusal through all the ways gold is used in modern technology/industry. After you get a handle on that, go and ask a woman if she would rather have a chunk of bitcoin or a chunk of gold. A kilo of gold is worth about $42,000 USD and easily fits in your pocket.

                                    Any entity between your assets and you is a bank. Banks suck.

                           Yo @PhoneBoy I don't think you are missing anything with these 3 choices.

                           I think #1 is an impossibility. Exchanging value is based on trust.

                           #2 & #3 hold the most importance to me. No one needs to have a ledger on what I do with what I have.

                           Having a middleman between you & your assets is banking. Banking sucks.
