Craig Maloney ☕I think the one thing that Node / NPM needs is a standard library. It's what helped keep everyone in C / Python from re-implementing everything from scratch. It also helped focus the efforts on improving the standard library.
And, no doubt, this bit of standardization would signal that Node / NPM was no longer for the "cool kids" and they'd flock to something else and re-learn these lessons over and over again.
Standardization doesn't have to mean ossification.
