The Vaughan Brothers' album, arguably not the best work of either brother independent of the other, is still a powerful piece of creation imbued with decades of desires and regrets. The fact that it exists at all is a sign that life is something complex and beautiful.

I've always related to Stevie Ray on a deep level, having found myself pursued by many of the same demons that rode him throughout his life, and to my ear this album sounds like pure redemption and delivery.
