@lain I'm a bit more optimistic. The discovery of an increasingly rapidly expanding universe and the Higgs boson, for instance. Or the discovery that maximum information containable in a region of space is a function of surface area, not volume, or formulations on the surface of a sphere are dual with formulations in 3d space. Paradigm-changing breakthroughs are harder to come by though - like unification of quantum physics and relativity.
