    @pet84rik @solderpunk @kensanata @tomasino 2200 watts would wreck a US socket (if it didn't blow the fuse first). That's 110V and 20A, which is the max load for a single fuse (if not more).

    Unless you're plugging it in to the washer/dryer plug, that is.

    I have a Japanese kettle which is 900W (designed for a 100v socket). It takes a minute or two to get boiling. Still worlds faster than a stovetop kettle.
