    my legit biggest gripe with myself is i seem absolutely incapable of actually "finishing" a project, coding or otherwise. Obviously these days a program is never truly finished if it's of any reasonable size, but I never even tend to get them to a presentable point

      @phenethylamine I don't know if this helps you, but this problem is pretty ubiquitous among programmers.

      I believe it goes away when you find something you are passionate about, especially if other validate your passion. Then you instead slide into the workaholic problem, and start feeling guilty if you don't respond to and work for anyone who ever had an opinion of your project. Haven't been there myself, but seen it happen.
