SC extends deadline for banking and mobile linking until the five judge bench finishes hearing petitions related to Aadhaar. However, unfortunately they have allowed its use in case of welfare services, which is where people suffer the most because they didn't receive their subsidized food and other supplies.

This is a little let down from the earlier 2016 order where SC allowed use of Aadhaar only for welfare schemes, that too voluntarily.
