   It walls FB into an app by wrapping the mobile site (so it can't [easily] infest your mobile browser), reducing Zuck's ability to harvest yr dox.

   I use the pay version, I think it was $2, it's okay. The guy does his best to keep up. Chat notifications are insufficiently frequent to use as a replacement for Messenger unless you're cool with just not getting realtime notifications when not actively using it.

      Now, as to what happens when you click an external link in that app...... I don't know. You may well at that point tag yourself with FB's tracking cookie based on the questionable way Android handles webviewish things nowadays. :blobshrug:
