zigg 💻Just to weigh in, if _any_ system you're using has "private" messages and they're not end-to-end encrypted (few are, and even fewer are competently), _someone_ has access to all of those messages.
The way I see it, knowing your admin on a Mastodon instance is a win. You don't get that option with any commercial social network.
