When you document a procedure, especially in the field, make sure to include screenshots for the sake of posterity.

As a network administrator, you may eventually move into a position where you're delegating duties and various networking tasks.

If you can take your manual and tell your subordinate 'go to x section and follow this on y server' and they can follow that manual without coming back to you even once, you know you've done a good job documentation.
