@dansup Probably a good idea, but what we also should think about is being smarter about thumbnails. If you look at the resource usage on any server, GS (and by exstention pA) uses a ridiculous amount of resources making a bunch of different size thumbnails for every image that comes across the network. When that represents hundreds of images a day, you run into resource exhaustion quickly if you federate widely and don't prune the posts. I run the script to clean thumbnails on a daily cron but it's a bandaid over the problem.
