    Most of the things private health insurance is used for makes no sense as insurance. I know I'm going to see a GP fairly regularly, a dentist or optometrist somewhat less so, even if I don't know exactly when. Even individual uncertainties are collective actuarial near-certainties. What's the point in paying a risk premium on virtual certainties? Most health insurance that's actually claimed is effectively just a hideously expensive Christmas club. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_club
