@andrawatkins I'm so glad I went to Australia.

While working in Alberta in 2001 I got an invitation out of the blue to work on a fellowship for three months at the University of Melbourne. It was a big risk because I didn't know the people inviting me and had no international experience at all. I would also earn a lot less for that time. But I took it because I wanted the experience.

This was key experience to landing my NRC job and led to many more international opportunities. #smallstories
