@breton learning German is probably the key. Most Germans don't speak English well in practice, so that won't help much in DE. -

@mcscx Huh, I heard that Germans at large are amongst best English speakers, excluding native ones of course. -

@xrevan86 walk into a random shop in a small town in DE and talk to the people in English… they will be helpless… it just happens too rarely -

@xrevan86 in contrast to Germany: Dutch and Scandinavians are used to watch films in English with subtitles → more practice.
