    Question for the group:

When consuming media, do you prefer to read written text or listen to video?

I abhor listening to video for news and much prefer to read a news article. I notice that I can read the news article much quicker than listening to the video.

However, debates must be consumed via video, in my opinion.

Yo @ScottALavender reading is my preferred method of consumption. I can read it faster than watch it and am not influenced as much by outside forces. Book over the movie any day too. Allows for imagination to play out.

I do think that video works for debate, but written debate has longer lasting impact. Folks can backtrack and see inconsistency.

@ScottALavender If you take video for news, you're gonna get Whipsawed.

@ScottALavender I get everything except breaking news from podcasts or other directly download-able audio files. Infrequently, the audio files are audio-only rips of YT video. I read breaking news either here (sometimes via Twitter) or in an RSS feed reader. Get my local news via RSS too.

I agree that debate must be heard.

@ScottALavender There is a time and a place for all things. No Agenda is perfect as an audio presentation, for example. It would be less enjoyable with video. Although, I did appreciate the one video of the show where @adam showed us "how the sausage was made," so to speak.
