How do you reconcile the light pink of a delicate, angelic little girl to the cool, lean sophistication of an Audrey Hepburn type to the brazen red hourglass of a Mae West bombshell? The myriad ways in which even *idealized* femininity is presented are literally in contradiction to each other.

So how did we decide what was defined as feminine when these elements are often themselves binary and diametrically opposed?
