Email can already be delay tolerant, if we use pop3 and smtp instead of imap.
Blogs, vlogs, podcasts, etc can already be delay tolerant if we use RSS.
Message boards can already be delay tolerant, using NNTP/usenet protocols.
Social has a few delay tolerant options, including SSB. More are possible, if we build up to them.
