   Comparing the ages of enlightenment of Europe and India (of-course both are from different centuries) the inquiry behind Indian enlightenment was dominated by spiritual & meta-physical i.e in other words Idealism and thus considered the world as Maya (illusion) whereas the inquiry behind the European enlightenment is that of questioning the absolute power, authority and seeking truth through practice (i.e science) and thus a mix of both Idealism and Materialism which led to the .....(continued)

      ... development of scientific methods which in turn improved the productive forces and tools and thus #Indians who were submerged in the idealism, not taking the material world seriously failed to raise new tools and productive forces and thus was surrendered in front of the modern weapons of the English.

      The struggle against the English forces (i.e which is a battle in the material world) induced the consciousness of majority of our society.
