talked with a city of Tacoma planner today.

big problem in the US: how do you make affordable housing, transit, or density in a democratic way if the "demos" of an area refuse to allow it in?

gotta say more I see the more I shift away from the idea of localism & individuals driving policy more towards central committees..

that's a definite change in political views vs me 10 years ago.
