    @bob @vinzv https://wiki.gnusocial.de/de:the_end

    My translation, abridged:

    Costs too much money, blood sweat and tears to run, GS is no longer being developed much and has many outstanding issues, the Fediverse today is so much bigger than when the instance was created, so it is no longer as big a loss as it might have been a few years ago, and even at 1900 users, the instance is a bit bigger than a decentralized network should have.

      @vinzv @bob If it could easily be migrated over to Pleroma, this list of issues would mostly be solved.

      Is that in the cards any time soon, @lain? Not pushing, just wouldn't want anyone to miss the opportunity it if it's due soon.

        @hattiecat @vinzv @bob I've been thinking for years that "someone" should make static site migration scripts for GS sites, for posterity. Maybe it's time I had a look at that.

          Imagine if there were e.g. a hugo theme, where you simply dump all the AS objects as files in the data directory, set the name of the site and some other minor details in the config.toml and then just poff, instant museum site to put up on GitLab Pages or something.
