    Oh! Heres an interesting thought. Did you know that given sufficient technology, theres really only one resource? Joules. That is to say, useful concentrations of energy. Everything else ultimately breaks down to joules, or can be made with joules.

      Now, the interesting thing is that joules are non-renewable. So unless we find a way to cheat entropy or conservation of energy, which we probably won't, we have a limited budget of joules. We can spend them as we please, but once they're gone, they're gone. We have a lot of them, at least in theory - the sun is massive and VERY dense in joules. But even it only has so much. :/
