@tomas Don't panic! No DRM on journals AFAIK. Just there's a parallel - in both cases publishers are profiting from someone else's work.

@tomas Exactly! I've though about starting my own open access journal. All you need is a webserver and a LaTeX template!

@thestevebiggs @pettter It strikes me that arxiv.org takes care of part of this. But of course organizing referees and getting stuff sent off to print takes time and money. Something that could also be publicly funded perhaps
