    Arguments against #DRM (e.g. http://v.ht/Zaa9) apply to #OpenAccess academic journal publications too @calligraffiti @therealpennyfortheguy

@tomas Don't panic! No DRM on journals AFAIK. Just there's a parallel - in both cases publishers are profiting from someone else's work.

@thestevebiggs That's a relief at least. Still messed up that we still have this situation - publicly funded things should be accessible to all

@tomas Exactly! I've though about starting my own open access journal. All you need is a webserver and a LaTeX template!

@thestevebiggs I'm for it :) Could be combined with uploading to archive.org and maybe IPFS

@tomas @pettter I dunno. Plasma physics. Fusion. No, probably needs to be quite broad. How about just general physics.

@pettter @tomas  Of course, the secret ingredient is time, of which I have very little. This is why I have yet to put my plan into action!

@thestevebiggs @pettter It strikes me that arxiv.org takes care of part of this. But of course organizing referees and getting stuff sent off to print takes time and money. Something that could also be publicly funded perhaps
