@Modern_Industrial The economic breakdown is confusing as hell, especially given that's already been simplified for public consumption, but if it boils down to paying an 8% GST (only one point higher than it was when it was first introduced in the 90s), I think I can get behind that.
My biggest concern is that people would either have to apply or this would be based on income tax returns and many truly poor people don't file taxes because they don't have any income of note.
@Modern_Industrial I'm not super familiar with the Ontario pilot, except that it's happening and recipients are understandably appreciative of it. As long as the program is easily accessible for those who need it, I'm all for it.
