00:30 <GeekDrew> Telegram is awful for security, somewhat like IRC. but lots and lots of people use it because, for the most part, it "just works" to a "good enough" extent, and has the features that people want in a chat client. because every other goddamned chat client out there ignores what the users want and tries to force them to do something else.
