   I was once completely content.
   I had a #Thinkpad with #Slackware running #Xfce.
   The themeing was perfect, light grey, stylish. Semi-transparent panel.
   It was running Terminator, Gmrun runbox (very smooth), Firefox, Claws, Thunar, Gajim, Abiword, podcasts through Newsbeuter, media playback with Gnome-mplayer.
   Everything... just... worked.
   Since then we have been reinventing every... single... wheel.

      @mjjzf I'm running a #fvwm2 desktop on #Slackware and are still quite happy with it. No reinventing going on on this front...

         @beni That one never worked for me, but I was on Openbox for a long time with Slack and Arch.

               @beni Fedora with Gnome 3. But the machine is dying, so I will need to use an old one instead. Will need to go lighter.

                           @beni Well, it is a particular community. Enjoyed talking to people back when I still wrote SlackBuilds.
