@cute_weeds The .uk domain is split into a few different second-level domains: .co.uk for general/company use, .org.uk for organisations, .me.uk for no apparent reason. There are also second-level domains that have always been reserved - .gov.uk, .nhs.uk, .police.uk, .ac.uk for colleges, .mod.uk for military etc.
Then they had the bright idea of letting anyone register a .uk domain, which has sort of broken everything. They are not in wide use as yet.
