    ASL has French roots. So, for instance, British Sign Language is completely different.

      @deejoe @dogjaw Oh! I would have expected Hong Kong to use British signs then. But from what I understand ASL has a lingua franca status internationally, so if the Hong Kong community formed late, maybe using ASL would make sense.
