   ASL is a much richer gestural language. This is

   ASL has French roots. So, for instance, British Sign Language is completely different.

      @deejoe @dogjaw Oh! I would have expected Hong Kong to use British signs then. But from what I understand ASL has a lingua franca status internationally, so if the Hong Kong community formed late, maybe using ASL would make sense.

         @dogjaw @deejoe And yeah, I meant the alphabet tiny subset of ASL. Didn't know it had its own name.
