      In this nonlinear scale, the universe does look a bit like the celestial sphere model with the stars embedded on the surface of the sphere. :-P

      When Star Trek TNG's season 1: "where no one has gone before" was released in 1987, Enterprise A travels 1 billion light years which they mentioned as the farthest extent of known universe. Now its much more than that! (92 billion light years dia?)
