   Was also thinking about monetization. If an instance can offer premium features for a few dollars a month, it could help offset the operational costs. For instance, premium accounts get higher resolution images and a donation badge or something like that. cc @pea

      It would be optional of course, up to each instance admin. I'd like to offer the possibility for such a tool that could help make the instance self-sustainable.

         Another premium feature could be access to analytics (ie: status view count, local vs foreign view count, ect). Would have to balance this feature very carefully with user privacy. View counts are one thing, ip/referrer/user_id is off-limits.
