Star Trek hasn't really been Star Trek since TNG, really.   DS9 was trying really hard to be Babylon 5.  Voyager was trying to be a weirdass mishmash of several common mid-tier sci fi shows of the time and TNG.  Enterprise wanted to be Firefly so hard it hurt.  The copies are much more than the superficials too - but DS9 at least managed to kind of find it's own thing with the Dominon War rather than a blatant copy of the Earthforce/shadows/whatever conflict in Babylon 5.  Voyager was just awful and Enterprise got shitcanned just as it was starting to really find a good, strong identity of its own.

@maiyannah Agree. I just gave up watching after TNG. I don't care about JJ Abrams or his films. People ask 'why don't you watch?' Not interested, that's why. Exercising my personal freedom.
