    @ignitionigel @joseph an alternative (if you're willing to spend a little cash) could be a Synology. You don't need a big, fancy one (I have a 4 disk, they're not cheap). You could get a single disk one, which still has all the features on the OS.

    You can then use their photo app on the NAS, and android app, which auto-uploads, just like nextcloud. I used it for years, it's rock solid.

    Backups - USB disk hanging out the back, or auto-backup to amazon glacier (very small cost)
