      Always comes across as a bad attempt at defense, and that kinda confuses me.

        @katiekats Yeah a lot of games seem to get that defense as if it makes their flaws okay (its not as bad as the Other Thing!) when they really don't.  It's why people get mediocre games, but they get the games industry they support.

          Very much so. "Well at least it's not..." is just...an odd thing to bring up.

          Sure, by the same logic, I'd rather play a lot of stuff than step in dog crap.

          But actually, really, I still want something -good- not just "passable because at least I'm not stabbing myself"
