tbh i think the best plan for how we deal with the current political/economic crisis is not just coming up with a plan for a revolution, but also coming up with viable ways to reject the system without actually stirring the hornet's nest

ways to live like we're in an ideal society, without actually having one yet, so we can show folks what it's like and have a taste ourselves

i think revolution is the most surefire way to get things to change quickly and all at once, but the next best way is to figure out a lifestyle that is easier than the one pushed by society and figure out how to make it as appealing to as many people as possible

like the commune idea. if enough people supported such a thing, making a commune in a relatively remote area with self-sustainability and no need for any work beyond what's needed to survive, could be appealing

it's not a perfect idea by any means though, and few seem to care about putting the logistics of such a plan down on paper so everyone can figure out how feasible something like this is.

but i do think it's a viable plan to at the very least think of ways we can reject the status quo and live our own lifestyles in spite of the system, and convince others to join us if it turns out to be healthy for us

and i mean, no lifestyle under the current system is gonna be the way you want it to be. i certainly will never be happy in our current society.

if i could live in a house i own, close to all my friends with all the time in the world to hang out with them, and no need to worry about money period, i would be set

since that's not currently possible, i gotta think of the next best thing

the human race is weird in that if something is subpar and they're offered a better alternative, the people will reject it unless it's absolutely perfect. sometimes they'll reject it even if it is 100% guaranteed to work and be perfect too, because "change is hard" or they just plain don't want to give up a position of advantage/power or the possibility of reaching that

the only way we learn and improve is to try out new ideas and make mistakes and it's getting a little frustrating to see so many folks shut down ideas because they're flawed in some way or are "too risky" (have any risk at all)

we can't live the way we've been living. that much is clear. our system is worse than the majority of the ideas folks have for change. you could argue that the fascists are just part of the current system because let's face it, they are. we need to oppose them.

we've also got this mentality that all we need to do is look the other way and try to survive and things will be better.

as nice as that sounds, we're not in an ideal society where you can just coast and survive. we all gotta do something to change this place or else it'll get harder for us and others and for those that come after us

i hate to say it, but simply coping is not enough

and blaming the radicals for every bad thing that would happen as a result of their ideas, like smashed windows hurting the employees of those shops (despite also striking fear into business owners, and the business owners being the ones punishing employees as a result) or a revolution having a death toll (when capitalism takes a large amount of lives on a daily basis and promises to increase that figure over time)

maybe we should blame the oppressors instead?

if someone is physically abusing you, the best you can do is usually either try to escape, or fight back. those are our two options in our current society too. we can either try to escape it by finding a way to form as ideal of a society as possible within the bounds of the system, or we can stand up and fight it. if we keep agreeing with it, giving into it, paying it heed at every opportunity, it'll accumulate more power and control

things CAN get worse, they ARE getting worse

tbh being a leftist isn't about recognising that things are bad. anyone can do that and it's easy as shit. it's more of a conscious choice to ignore those things than to accept that things suck

the most important part about being a leftist (or a good person in general) is to go outside of your comfort zone to make sure good things happen, or at least minimise the bad things. and always put your goals for change above the feelings of the oppressors and systemic traitors (stat quo)
