Apparently controversial opinion, it's okay to be a fan of a piece of media. Even a crap one.
But...don't spend countless hours desperately marking the hill you wish to die on, defending something that's not actually all that good, cos you're a fan.
People can enjoy bad or mediocre things. That's okay, if it's your type of thing. When you interact with it, you mightn't think it's bad at the time, after all, you're enjoying it.
But...there's nothing wrong with accepting that's the case because at the end of the day, you're a fan.
Recognizing and accepting ones own biases is a -good- thing.
And no "I know I'm totes biased but [insert 20 page essay about how it's actually the best thing ever that totally ignores their apparent recognition of their bias]" isn't really the same.
I like and enjoy some things that aren't very good for whatever field or genre they're in. That's okay. I'm not gonna pretend they're some pinnacle everyone has missed.

This happens a LOT, especially in films.
Just look at the fighting between Marvel and DC film fans.
Both sides constantly go on about the apparent 'depth' you're missing in them. Marvel fans always going on about how they're perfect films that allegedly curbstomp all else, DC fans always going on about how it's the worst crime ever that they're not well recieved and actually Zack Snyder is Christ Reborn.
Maybe you just like imperfect things because you're a fan. You don't need to spend all of your time defending these things, or tearing down the other thing.
You're a fan. You like it. That's cool. Enjoy yourself. They're not worth the constant amateur overanalysis littered with your own biases. They're just pieces of media you happen to like or dislike cos that's just like, your opinion man.
