it actually took me a bit after deciding i liked the idea of anarchy to realise just how disgusting hierarchy was and now i can't stop being eternally creeped out by any authoritarians including other communists who don't subscribe to anarchy
my initial decision to go down the path of anarchy was just "oh hey, working together as a community sounds great" and then i eventually realised the problems that was fixing (centralised power in the hands of the ruling class)

reminder that mastodon is a powerful and somewhat accurate representation of how a form of anarchy might work in practise; hierarchy is optional and based on a consent model rather than forced upon us.
we can join any instance/community and take part, or build our own if nothing suits us, and we can still all interact and help each other and communicate even from our own corners of the fediverse

not everyone has the resources and/or expertise to create their own instance if they need to, of course, but i've seen so many folks working together with their friends and other peers to set up instances and moderate existing ones to the point where it feels like those gaps are mostly filled
