Speaking of Edgar Wright, talk about overrated. I like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim. They're good films, not amazing, but good. Shaun is the worst of those three.
Worlds End and Baby Driver are fucking awful (controversial about Baby Driver there I know)

@katiekats Pet peeve: the same people who call Life is Strange cringey teen bullshit tend to love Scott Pilgrim.

The main defense I've seen from those, is that in Scott Pilgrim, they're assholes, especially Scott, and it's about him growing out of that.
That hardly works for the film tho cos...well...it's a much shorter run time and it focuses on the comedy a lot more than it does that character growth.
Personally I like Scott Pilgrim, and I'm not a fan of Life is Strange. But...I'm not really the person cos I don't like Life is Strange because I don't like Square Enix writing in general, not related to it being specifically cringey or anything.
And my liking of Scott Pilgrim the film is probably a LOT because I appreciate the actor of Wallace, and I like the graphic novels.

@katiekats I find them both mediocre. Not good but not bad and fairly deficient in some pretty obvious ways. I probably enjoyed Life is Strange more because it actually had something to say about things at the end of the day though, whereas Scott Pilgrim, the film at least, is a pretty tropey, bog-standard story. I couldn't speak to the graphic novels, you literally can't find them in stores here, I looked.
