This whole Google #HTTPS conspiracy thing reminds me back in the day when Big SSH tried killing off telnet saying alarmist things like the hackers can see your passwords.

That war was largely lost, but there are still some hard-core telnet stalwarts around. You keep being you (just not on any of my networks thanks)
