app stores are incredibly convenient and even though i know there are a lot of problems with them, i think they'd be a really good idea to keep around even in an ideal society, if we can manage to rectify the issues
updating and installing shit on my phone is 10x easier than doing any of that on a desktop pc

ms and apple aren't doing a very good job with their app stores, but i have seen a couple decent iterations in linux distros
