   The Discourse is a form of emergent social engineering that makes people who dont/shouldnt need to have an opinion feel like they need to form one and express it. its even managed to work on me since im posting this. its pretty hard to escape it

      @jk we're encouraged to have an opinion to the point where people who don't care one way or another, have to tell everyone to stop talking about a thing because they're not interested in the thing

      and then the other side of the coin where people that do feel strongly about the thing, feel the need to control the discussion and fragment the conversation further into a series of one-sided takes on personal timelines directed at nobody
